First point of fact…..There is no law, Article or amendment to the 1787/1789 U.S. Constitution that states that a member State of the union of States cannot secede from the union. For such a law to exist could mean nothing other than a consolidation of the States into a single State. If the States were, or are consolidated into a single State then there can exist no union of States because they have been consolidated into a single State. If a State cannot withdraw from a voluntary union, then it can mean nothing other than the State ceases to exist; for a State to exist, it must be a sovereign nation.
